About the Philippines
A tropical paradise made up of 7,107 individual islands, the 2nd largest archipelago in the world, set in the heart of Southeast Asia. Scattered among its three major island groupings-Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao-are 87 million of the warmest and most hospitable people in the world.

The Philippines has an annual remittance of $7-8 billion from overseas workers and with a labor force of 35.86 million. GDP growth accelerated to 4.3% in 2002, 4.7% in 2003, 5.1% in 2004 and about 6% in 2005, reflecting the continued resilience of the service sector, construction, improved exports and agricultural output.

Getting here and exploring the Islands is not a problem. Almost all international carriers have flights to Manila, the country's premiere international gateway.

World-class quality service at very competitive prices await visitors to the Islands. Hotels, pension houses and restaurants abound in key destinations and getting accommodations often require only a phone call. Almost all quality dining places in all major cities offer a cornucopia of tropical fruits and seafoods. For the more adventurous, each region has its own delicacies.

Being the 3rd largest English speaking nation in the world has its advantages. Visitors to the Islands can easily communicate with almost anyone they meet. Local, national and international newspapers can be bought in all major cities. Mobile cellular phone and internet services are also available, so your loved ones are only a phone call or an e-mail away.
